Old mail to new Tiger Mail– How to?

My 2.3 G5 is due to arrive sometime tomorrow and all I have left to back up for
transfer is my old Netscape Mail (iKnow!). I have a lot of messages that I
need to keep. Is this possible?

also, should I do all of the system software updates before installing an extra
two gigs of ram and HDD?

I'm getting pretty damn excited!

You may be able to import mailboxes using File>import mailboxes.
Not sure of the compatibility of Netscape Mail, but looking at my attatchment may lift your spirits.

Did you order these separately? If you ordered them as upgrades through Apple store them they will be pre-installed.
If not, i would reccomend doing the hardware stuff first, and then powering up.

You will have to set up the preferences yourself - should be no mare than copying stmps and such between the two manually, but the importing will import your current mail on your HD into Apple Mail.

The HDD will be somewhat more complicated. I take it you're adding it in addition to the supplied drive?
If not you will have to install OS X onto the drive by booting from the discs that come with your Mac.
