Hi all,

I have a Photos library on my old Mac and a Photos library on my new Mac. I wish to merge them (both are important to me) on to the new Mac, whilst retaining the Photos library on the old Mac. Can I do this? I found some confusing articles online about how it isn't easy to do this but possible with some fiddling around.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thank you!

Yes you can, but it depends on how you want to do it. If you want a straight merge, with all metadata, albums and such retained, you'll have to pay for software to do so. I've personally used PowerPhotos to do so, and it can also detect duplicates, if you have these.
Otherwise, you can export all images from the one library, and simply import it in the other. There's no proper export/import funktion of libraries in Photos yet.
