Old or New

Right wise forum. Please try to help me.

I have just had to buy a new tv so had my old 43 inch plasma reconditioned and moved to the spare room.

I want to be able to use apple tv in there so ordered the new small black one.

I already have the bigger silver one (that gets hot) in the main room.

When the new one arrives which one should I use in the main room; old or new?

What are the advantages / disadvantages?

black - streaming only, cheap hd rentals, can do netflix

silver - can be used without the computer on, doesn't do netflix, can't do super cheap hd rentals

No Netfilx in the UK, right?

Unless you are going to patchstick (old version) or jailbreak (new version), I see very little difference.

I have both, and my impression is that the ATV2 streams better than the ATV1 (for shows that are in my iTunes Library, but not synced). When I first got the ATV2, I thought that the UI was a small step back from the previous version, but since I watch Netfilx almost exclusively now, I don't miss the old UI at all. I guess it's more a matter of familiarity.

ah, right, no netflix.

I'd use the silver one on the main tv, because I prefer the integrated menu vs the "computers" menu.
