Hey all.

I'm going to be buying my Mother a new phone because her old 6S is having major issues and wont hold a charge. My plan is to send the phone to myself to set it up and then mail it to her.

I know once I activate the new phone, cellular service will no longer work on her old phone correct? But she can still use iMessage and stuff like that on wi-fi correct? I was first thinking she would lose the ability to do anything with her old phone once I activate the one one but then I realized it wont be that severe and she can still do a lot with it while she waits for the new one. Do I have that right?

She would lose the ability to make regular phone calls, send SMS, and mobile data. As long as she's on WiFi everything else will still work.
