I'd like to install Leopard on a separate USB 3.0 drive and boot off it to run my power pc based apps on my new 2012 mac mini from time to time.
I was curious... How fast is running an operating system off a bootable usb 3.0 drive compared to the internal 5200 rpm HD. Would putting a 7200 RPM drive in the 3.0 enclosure improve performance in a worthwhile amount?
And lastly, could i just buy a say a 64 GB thumb usb 3.0 flash drive.. plug it into a usb 3.0 port.. and run the Leopard off the thumb drive?
