Do you mean on the menu bar like this?

I did it with GeekTool, displaying a small image there with the option "keep on top"

The only minor issue (for me) of doing it this way with GeekTool is that the logo will stay visible in the top left corner of the screen when I go to full screen with an application. I don't mind that and also most of the time I use my second screen to display the full screen application.
