When I took a look at the trackpad preference pane, I noticed that I was not getting the two finger gestures. Is this normal for my MacBook (model identifier 4,1), or should I at least be getting the two finger gestures (swipe for pages in Safari, zooming in/out)?

Thanks,

Blackbooks and any pre-unibody Macbook (except the early 2008 Macbook Pros and all Airs) cannot use the gestures. The only things they are do are the two finger scrolling and two finger click for right click. They will not get any new features.

Exactly. I have an older Core 2 Duo MacBook 2.0ghz as a backup and cannot use all the trackpad features on Snow Leopard. I would suggest purchasing a Magic Trackpad if you plan on using an older MacBook.
