Hey guys
Long time reader, first-time poster. Anyway, here's what I've got.
I'm using an iPhone 3GS, and up until now, I have not upgraded it past 4.0.2. The reason for this is because the fastest machine I currently own is a G4 tower running 10.4.11 and I haven't been able to update iTunes on said machine.
I know from reading around here that I can update the 3GS to iOS 5, and I now have access to a machine that will do the update - however, it's not the one that I usually sync my phone with. I understand that when I update the software, it'll wipe most of the stuff on my phone, but since the phone is only 8 gig anyway and most of it is music, I don't mind manually putting everything back on there.
My question is, would any of you happen to know if I *can* put stuff on the phone manually from an older machine once the software is updated, or will it give me an error?
Thanks in advance!
