Since Kepler and Fermi PC nVidia cards work with OS X in the Pro, will older cards work as well?
I've got a 9500gt in my Hackintosh and would like to know if this card would work with Mountain Lion in the Mac Pro (2009).

Thank you.

It should, you can always just pop the card in and see what happens. If the card doesn't work the screen will stay black and your system might panic, but those are non-fatal errors (i.e. you're not going to damage your system by trying it out).

If I attempt to boot with this card, and the screen stays black (that is, nothing happens--no boot), what must I do next?

Is a forced shutdown (holding the power button) the only option?

And would a forced shutdown in this situation (pre-boot, non-OS environment) be harmful to any hardware? Or not?
