Older version od FCPX on new mac

Hi guys,

Can I install an old FCPX (10.6.5) on a newer M2 mac?

I want to use a 2015 iMac and the M2 with the same FCPX version...

Probably not... unless both are running a version of macOS within about 1 generation of each other.

Apple software tends to be designed to push hardware upgrades. So if something runs on that iMac, it probably doesn't run on a much newer Mac and vice versa. But there's little to stop you from trying to install it on both and seeing what happens.

Depends on what macOS version you have installed.
Final Cut Pro 10.6 requires macOS 11.5.1 or later
Final Cut Pro 10.6.9 requires macOS 13.4 or later
