Older Versions Of Reunion For Mac Require Upgrade

I've been a longtime user of the genealogy software Reunion for the Mac. I haven't upgraded it in a while (still had version 9). When I went to look something up today, I was informed by MacOS HS that I needed to upgrade as the version I had was not optimised for use on the current (and one presumes future) MacOS. While the program worked just fine, I bit the bullet and upgraded to the latest version. That took care of the system prompt, now all I've got to do is get used to the newer interface and fix some broken links in my database. I would guess that I am going to see these prompts on other software I have that is aged out, soon enough.

Those warnings are for 32 bit apps which supposedly will not work right with the next version of macOS. Apple says there will be compromises running them. (Whatever that means.) I'm not about to rush out and update the 32 bit apps that I currently am using. I've decided to wait and see how well or not they run in macOS 10.14.X before I do any updating.

FWIW: I contacted the developer of Reunion, and he assured me that a 64 bit version would be released before the current version becomes unusable.

I haven't had any more alerts on my system since I updated to version 12. If they do another update I will hope it's a freebie, considering the cost of the update I just did.

The alert only appears once for an app, though you can check if a running app is still 32-bit using Activity Monitor (not visible by default, you'll need to open the View menu, mouse over Columns and click Kind to show it).

Got an email from support at LeisterPro. The latest version (12) is 64bit and it should be good to go for the next iteration of the MacOS.
