Whenever a new iMac is due, there are always some people here suggesting that it will have an OLED display. I think the first time I've read this was sometime in the middle of the last decade. And everytime, those people say the technology would be finally ready, despite that fact that there are not even standalone OLED monitors available in desktop-class sizes.
Well, not anymore!
Sony released an OLED monitor with a display panel that is big enough to be used in an iMac (25")!

Great news, isn't it? If you ignore the slight bulkyness, the miserable 100cd max. brightness, and the price tag of just $28900, I think the OLED iMac is just around the corner! NOT.
[edit]: The press release is from January of this year, so it's kinda old news.
