It lets you file browse and save files to your unjailbroken iPod Touch!!! AHHHH!!! OMG!!!

What we've all been waiting for, no? It gets its own desktop icon!

Ok, at LEAST three threads were based entirely around this, and now nobody cares? Wow... I thought it was cool. :(

If there's already three other threads about this then why didn't you just post there?

However, I do agree with you - this is a very cool app - but I don't know that I would shell out $14.99 for it

The price is exactly why I'm holding out, but I won't be able to much longer... :D

You can view pictures and text files (including PDFs and HTML pages w/pictures!), and you transfer them all over the Wi-Fi, just like you would to another computer!

It's a miracle! :):):)

You failed to mention that you were the one that posted all three threads about this app...

It does sound like exactly what I've been waiting for, but $14.99 is a bit steep, and it's the "introductory price"? Meaning they are planning to charge even more for this as its regular price? And then, I followed the link to their website, and discovered it isn't even set up yet. Add to that the wildly contradictory first two reviews -- I'll wait and see on this one!

Good idea, but what do you mean by 'not set up yet'? It uses the local network, just like when you share your iTunes library over the Wi-Fi or transfer a file to another computer connected to the same router. It doesn't use their web site lol!

No WiFi at work, I need to be able to transfer files over the USB cable!

Does anyone know if that is possible with the Apple SDK? How about with jailbreak apps?

I really would love to ditch my Nano -- feels very stupid to be carrying it around just to use it as a portable drive.

but kind of pricey. I'll wait for a cheaper alternative.

Agreed, or at least I'll split the cost with my cousin (we authorized each other's accounts, so we can share apps). Here's hoping a cheaper alternative comes along! :D

BTW, what do you reckon would happen if you transferred a video file via this program to your iPhone? Would it let you play it?

You can make a wireless network with your computer and do it that way!

Mac or PC?

FileMagnet does this cheaper, sure it uses a free desktop app and is Leopard only but I think it's a nicer solution especially at the price...

I know, but leopard only would only work for me at home, I need one to be able to get my work docs from the crappy computer lab PCs at my college... I do agree that if you just want to use it with your Mac, FileMagnet is best though! :D

I mean their *web site* is not set up! I was puzzled at first, because there was a "log in" screen, and information about a web hosting service I'd never heard of. I was like "huh?" And then I realized I was looking at a default home page at a web hosting service that hasn't been set up yet by the owners. Maybe their app got approved quicker than they expected, but the point is, it's like inviting people for a house warming, and when your first guests arrive, your house is still in the middle of being painted. Not very professional.

Oh! I understand now! Yeah, you're right, it's weird, but also was the fact that the July 22 apps were released about five hours before midnight tonight, so I bet that it was just Apple releasing it early...

PC. And how do you "make" a wireless network? You need some kind of wireless network cards or routers! And I'm not authorized to modify the computers at work that way!

how does authorizing each others accounts work? i want to do that with my wife, but does that mean that we would have to sync the music on both of our accounts or what? how does that work? please link a thread that contains that info if you know of one. thanks

Just open iTunes, click store (top) and scroll down to authorize computer, then type in your iTunes account info (login). You can authorize up to 5 computers to use stuff you have purchased! You will have to move the file(s) to the computer you just authorized (email, through Wi-Fi, or by using an external drive to copy the files to the computer).

cool thanks for this. my wife and i were talking about this yesterday after i got her iphone. now that we both have one (with no waiting in line i may add) we would like to share all the apps that i have bought. thanks for this.

o by the way if we are on the same wifi network in our house, all the purchased stuff should just show up under the purchased tab on the oppisite computer right?

Apple doesn't get to set the prices, the people who made the app did that. Fear not, you can direct hatred at them and peace/love to :apple: :D

Nope, you'll still have to E-mail/transfer the file somehow to that computer, but don't worry, just right click, scroll down to 'show in finder' or whatever it says, and then it will show you where the actual file is to send it to the other computer. Not too difficult... ;)

I imagine there'll be a ton of apps like this that'll eventually be released in the coming weeks, so I'm holding off to see what options materialize... and at what price points. I'd be willing to spend no more than $10 for this type of app personally.
