My iMac should be here in a bit less than an hour...I've just checked the tracking number and earlier this morning it was in my province, in a town about two hours from mine. I can't wait!! :D

lol You'll love it.

If you need any help when it arrives, either post on here, or talk to me over MSN/AIM (whichever you have). Don't know if you're new to Macs or not...

That's awesome, man!

I'm waiting for my MacBook Pro, too. About 6 more days, approximately! (2.33GHz C2D, 160GB HD, 2GB RAM, 15") :D

OMG Apple just announced new iMacs! Yours is now obsolete:D

Just kidding and have fun with your new iMac (besides the new ones won't come out until nextweek).

It's the 20". I wanted the 24" because of the better graphics card, but the difference in price was pretty big, so I just sticked with the 20". Upgraded RAM and the video card on it...and yeah, it's my first Mac.

Good move. The RAM is the biggest factor in the speed of the machine, then it's a balance between CPU and GPU IMO for general run of the mill stuff...

I'm worst than a little kid right now...everytime I hear a car or truck pass by I run infront of the window to see if it's my delivery. :p

lol I'm the same when new stuff arrives. Be excited, you'll absolutely love the computer :D

I really want one right now :( They had a whole room of them down at the BT Communications Centre in Cornwall hooked up to a 1 gigabit internet connection. They were awesome :) Even my dad liked them (he hates computers).

Nice, man. That's a great buy !

Three weeks ago, I also bought my first iMac. It's the 20" with upgraded RAM and graphic card + iWork and AppleCare. I wanted the 24" too, but as you said, it was expansive. Anyways, the 20" is great. You'll love the all-in-one design, for sure. It's awesome !

So I hope you like your iMac. :D ;)

Wow...I'm just amazed guys, seriously. I just came back from work (finally!) and jumped on the computer! There seems like a bunch of just to do and all...I guess it's going to take a little while until I get the hang of it, not that it's complicated or anything...there's so much things I don't know where to start! :D Seriously the best computer I ever had...and the best purchase I've ever made.

I'm kind of lost...

And I got a problem with iChat...I clicked on it but I need to set it up. I don't have a .Mac account or anything...but the window itself doesn't have a little x to close it, so I don't know how to get out of there...

I also went on msn to download msn messenger but when I clicked on download it just gave me the .exe file...so where so I go to download it?

Also, is there a way I can get a another tab on safari, or another safari window to open? So far I've only manage to open more than one safari windows when I was surfing the web.

Wow, I'm such a noob Mac user :p

Still love it though!

Macs don't use executable files (.exe), you may see a .dmg (disk image) or a .sit (Stuffit).

Tabs in Safari - you may have to enable them through preferences; I've seen people say you have to enable them but I don't remember ever having to do so. Control (ie Apple) T creates a new tab, Control-W closes the currently open tab. Play around with Expose...F9, F10, F11. Dashboard is F12. You'll use F9 a lot once you get used to it. Spotlight shortcut is Control-Spacebar; I don't know how I ever lived without Spotlight before. ;)

I can't wait to get an iMac or a Power Mac myself at home. Until then I look forward to going to work to play on my G5. :)

It's "Command" or "Apple" not "Control" don't want to get the poor guy confused ;)

That is the link for the .dmg for msn messenger.

Congrats on the iMac!

Cheers

How would I put tabs on Safari?

Oh and when I was downloading the file...it showed a message saying it contains an application. Then is just asks if I want to continue or not...does it mean anything?
