OmG.. Is that the new iPhone?

if your like me, you went out and got the iPhone as soon as possible, if your also like me, your getting kinda tired of having to go through and explain everything to everyone.

1] Went to work saturday - everyone needed to see it because i left early friday to get it

2] local car enthusiast meet Sunday, taking pictures, girl sees it, calls boyfriend over, he calls buddies over, turns into iPhone tutorial

3] later sunday having a block party, the entire block wants a run through of the features and check out everything on it

4] driving, having the iPhone in the Griffin TuneFlex iPod dock, a guy pulls put next to me, "Is that the new iPhone?"

5] me watching a youtube video last night before the fireworks started, the woman next to me, "Is that the new Mac? Where'd you have to go to get it?"

Anyone else getting this kind of attention? Sometimes it's fun but i'm tired of going through the phone like I work at an Apple Store.

Just say "yes, it is," smile, and go about your business. :)
 
This is the kind of free advertising that apple is dreaming off. Just think how many people probably went away thinking they would buy one of these or were just so impressed by it that they may look at a mac.
 
I've done no less than 25 demos already. I want commission for all the phones I'm selling for Apple. :p
 
^ I think its great for the company, and as a (small) stock holder it makes me happy. I'm just wondering if others were getting the same attention and at time feel like Rockstars lol.

I figure maybe another 2-3 months
 
Same thing here... wherever I go, if I have it out, I must be prepared to give little tutorials to some people. The worst thing though, is all the people that want to hold it and try it out...

But overall... it's definitely fun to show off. :D
 
It gets a little much, but I am still having fun. I was walking downtown yesterday a guy noticed the phone and started chatting me up. 10 minutes later I had a job offer. A jock that seems to think we are now buds because we both ha e iphone kind of gets to me. Now he os show the iPod part to his friends and he has NO music taste.

I don't complain. I even let one person play with it when I went to AT&T to get the Casemate case/screen. She was thrilled to play with it and at one point her boyfriend takes her hand and pushes it to me to give it back. It was funny but you had to be there.

Even when I was outdoors at a Japanese Rest. the waiter asked if it was the iPhone. I showed him the main features and he was pretty grateful. The people sitting further away just sat quietly listening.

Look the more we help to get this out, the more sales and more support. Shoot, you know today is a holiday but how many Apple engineers are working right now on update 1.1?

You know that can't be more than days away right? :D

Besides, Apple folks have always been helpful ambassadors. It's been part of the culture as long as I can remember. :cool:
 
I think deep in their hearts, that kind of reaction is exactly what some iphone users want.

Treat it as a compliment, for your sense of design, your sense of art, and of course, your wealthy. :)
 
If you use an iphone in public view, you have no rights to privacy, for the next few months. You are a walking demo. It could be worse.
 
Yesterday a guy asked me about it and I didn't mind discussing it at all.

I don't particularly share in the mindset of those first movers who simply want bragging rights to being first. The reason I get behind some products early is because i believe in the underlying concept and want to evangelize it to those around me.

I have waited all my life to see computing advance to this level of elegance. So when this guy came up and asked about it I really got into talking up the idea of computing becoming a transparent part of the user experience. That to me is the real revolution here with iphone.

Apple removed "computer" from their name not because they plan to branch out from their core business but rather because they are in the business of changing the definition of what a computer is and does so much that "computer" is really no longer an adequate word for such devices.

Too often people talk about these things in terms of the individual features and much of the media coverage has focused on the bells and whistles while missing the bigger picture. Multitouch opens so many doors to a more intuitive user interaction that allows you to get one step closer to direct interaction with what you are trying to do, whether it's work, play, art, etc.

With file systems evolving from a few hundred to now tens of thousands of documents... The conventional idea of graphical navigation, I.e. Keyboard and mouse, just doesn't do.

Iphone is a great experiment that will lead us into a new generation, a new class, of products that span the spectrum of mobile computing and communications.

I told the guy that this is the first concept that made me feel like I really am living in a 21st century world.
 
And none of you got laid because of the iPhone?

You just aren't trying. :)
 
I pulled mine out while at the orthodontist. Got swarmed by about 5 people, Dr. included. They were trying to tap it with their rubber gloves on (which btw, didn't work). Must be bare skin (that doesn't sound right...:D ).
 
Yes, reminds me of when I got the Razr when it first came out.
It's just a sexy little machine, probably the attention will continue until it hits the $199 subsidized price point (if they follow the Razr path)
 
Not since the second day no one has asked me
but i use mine like an iPod so yeah
how should i show it off?

Last December a kid said cool phone to me in a restroom when i was using the Razr
wasnt mine though

This is off topic but since the OP is using the Griffin TuneFlex iPod dock could anyone tell me if the 1/8" (3.5mm) audio socket for audio-out on this unit works with the iPhone? Has anyone tried to output audio to your cars using a cable connection to the stereo?
 
swarmed by people everytime i took it out. BUT everyone that i showed it to did not want one, said it was a rip off, too expensive, etc... so...

I had tried to use the audio connection with one of those tape deck plugs and it did not work. It would only charge. I saw that the iPhone dock and the dual dock both have an audio out, but not the tune flex (yet)
 
I don't think people really know what I have. I have a black rubber case on my iPhone that hides the apple logo. I've been using it in DC and not one soul has said anything to me.
 
Sister didn't care about my iPhone...surprised me

Neighbor and his g/f went nuts looking at it. Had to clean it off as they touched it a million times.
 
Word got around that i have one, and someone came up to me and said, "DO YOU HAVE THE NEW BLACKBERRY!!" I just said no and walked away.
 
yeah its been happening a lot I'm kind of embarrassed I'm young and people always ask how much it was...i do like showing off the features and U
 
Well, plenty of people walk into my cube at work saying "alright, let's see it..."

It spreads like wild fire.

Apple doesn't do cheap - they never have.
 
I would have thought that, if youre going to watch a youtube video at something as crowded as a fireworks display, you're going to have a few people go "holy shizzle, what's that?"
Think yourself lucky that you're able to have one at this point in time. I'd love one of those bitches, but we have to play the waiting game here:(.
