I'm starting to get really pissed off right now.

My first iPhone 3G had the retarded negative black problem so I had to wait 3 days until the Apple store near here got new stock. On Thursday I finally got it replaced for a new one.

No negative black, but a stuck pixel and a tiny air bubble in the back. But I didn't care, I was perfectly happy with it, until today.

Today i'm using the camera perfectly fine, but then I open the camera and the shutter never opens and i'm thrown back to the home screen. Repeated attempts do nothing, everytime does the same thing. So I think, Ok this is just some stupid 2.0 crap. I'll do a restore when I get home.

Get home, do a restore that took like 2 damn hours, walk over to the phone, start the camera, SAME S***.

I happen to discover that trying to go to wallpapers under settings, also kicks me back to the home screen everytime.

I don't want to wait for new stock at my store AGAIN, I don't want to drive all the way back to apple for the 3RD TIME. I don't want to play the damn iPhone lottery where I get to leave a negative black screen, yellow tint, dead pixels, light leakage, bubbles in the case, defective battery, cracked case, DOA, or messed up software up to chance!

Is it possible that an update to 2.0 will be out soon and that it will fix this damn problem, or am I pretty much just screwed either way.

tsk tsk tsk. make an appointment with an apple genius about the camera before you return it. how do you get an airbubble on the back. it is plastic

and btw, no one here works for apple. so we have no idea what will come out with future fw updates.

And it is not a lottery. ill bet you 98% of people who have the new iphone dont have problems. you were just unlucky. that is the way electronics work. get used to it.

Because moulded plastic has high decently high chances of getting air bubbles in it...in fact, that's the thing about moulded plastics.

there are people in the world that have no clean water to drink...hopefully that puts your problem in perspective.

Your post is the written version of a child throwing a temper tantrum because everything didn't pan out as expected. Why not contact Apple and voice your concerns and frustrations?

It's common knowledge at this point that Apple completely dropped the ball on QC with the iPhone and mobileme rollout. It will take weeks if not months for Apple to fix the issues on both platforms, so why not just wait it out? like me :)

I will buy an iPhone once I feel confident that the defects are a rare occurrence and I will pay for Mobileme once it actually works as intended and all references to .Mac are removed from OSX. With your luck, maybe you should wait too.
