If I understand your question right, just open the camera, make sure it’s in a photo mode, tap on the screen so a yellow focus box appears. Just outside the box, drag your finger up or down on to raise or lower brightness. I think that technically, you are adjusting exposure, but it might be what you are looking for. Anything after that just requires you to edit your photo after the fact.
 
Yes that’s the gist of it I asked beczz as use I took some photos after it had been raining and I wanted to know if like the Canon I got you cou brighten it while taking the shot

Yes thats how you do it. tap where you want to focus and hold so it goes to AE lock then you can adjust exposure by sliding up and down with finger. Works on android too btw.
