It's safe.
It does work.
Facebook recently bought it so they'll probably use your info for marketing purposes - but they probably did that before Facebook bought them.

it used to be that they install a special profile on your phone for it to work and by doing so you lose notifications of new voicemails....maybe its fixed now

I installed it on my 5s and my data speed decreased so much. Is that normal?
