Once PS3s can be hooked up to the new iMacs, will we get 1080p?

Therefore making this the first Mac product to play Bluray discs at their full 1080p capacity?

Apparently you cannot connect anything other than a recent MBP to the new iMac, but I'm sure adapters will be made (HDMI-Thunderbolt). Once said adapters are released, will Thunderbolt facilitate full 1080p video-in? Will we finally be able to watch Blurays on our iMacs?

iTunes does not have 1080p content, right?

Doubt it, the previous iMacs only did 720p. And for a 27" screen, it doesn't matter. Also, I'd rather spend a little more money and get a 40" flatscreen instead o an adapter.

I don't know. But would like to find out. I suppose you would have to buy a HDMI ---> mini-display (thunderbolt) adapter, and put the HDMI in the PS3 and the mdp in the iMac. Post results, thanks.

JK, well sort of. I, most probably, will test this, and it, most probably, won't work - you need an expensive scaler adapter for full 1440p.

According to Google shopping, yes. It's probably on the Apple website, but, you know: cba.

However, I think that you'll still need one the scaler thing.

That is a mini-displayport to HDMI adapter, not and HDMI to mini-displayport adapter (or better: converter), which is a difference. Why? Well because it needs active conversion (why you need a powered converter for 150 dollars) while an HDMI signal can easily been drawn from a mini-displayport signal (which a 20 dollar adapter can do).
