Well, my wife and I both have iPhones, and I am curious about purchasing an App. I know the Apps will sync from iTunes, but can you put the App onto multiple iPhones?

1. It sounds wrong. You can't legally purchase one copy of OS X and put it on two computers, so what would the app store be any different?

2. How are we supposed to know since the app store isn't out yet?

It was a speculation question. My theory is, if it is bought on iTunes, and then sync'd, what would stop it from being on two phones?

Second question is, do you think Apple would lock us out somehow? from one App on two phones?

It can't imagine it will be a lot different than iPod game purchases..only transferable to one phone. I'm a little surprised you're surprised by this...if the apps didn't function this way, it would be relatively easy to buy a copy then just post it online...

Can't you put iPod games on 5 devices? I have some games on at least two iPods and I only bought them once, and I didn't do anything tricky to get them on.

errr..may have used a bad example there, I've only bought 1 game off the store, and while I have 3 iPods in the house, only put it on one. I know you can put songs on up to 5 iPods, but I guess I'm not so sure about the games.

I really doubt though, that you'll be able to put paid apps on more than one phone, it just doesn't make a lot of sense from a distribution/revenue perspective.

I was wondering this samething, think about the question this way too

If I were to first buy and app from the app store on my current iPhone and then i decide to upgrade to iPhone 3g, would it be possible for me to put those apps that I bought on my new iPhone?
