Hi
This is my first Mac purchased NOV 09 , I am thrilled with it, but I have noticed that there is now one faulty pixel (red colour, ) i 've tried the Jscreen fix applet a few times as directed but it has made no difference. What do you think? Could the pixel right itself quickly, any other fixes? I could call Applecare but it is all so new to me not really too sure. :apple:

Apple will not repair or replace for 1 pixel

If it is red, it appears to be a stuck pixel and not a dead pixel

You can try downloading Pixel Murder and running it

Apple policy states that if the display has 7 dead pixels, they will replace it for free. You can try talking to a store manager though. Also, you can pay to have the display replaced (but that's pretty expensive).

thanks guys

I will try the download, haven't come across that on my search, yeah , the chap who sold me the product was very helpful, so i may go back, do these sometimes fix themselves though?

thanks for the messages.:)

the pixel just has a rest and is sleeping
they are so much under stress these little buggers nowadays
so its gone on strike

this widget could convince it to go back to work

That widget has been running for 12 hours, and the little pixel is still refusing to wake up...
it will one day I'm sure. I won't let that put me off my new MAC.
good weekend all
