One Interesting MobileChat Question

So many of us have bought this app and many have asked for a received a refund. We're many many days later, over a month in fact from when the app was released and there has yet to be any update available. My real question is with other apps being pulled in the past, how is it that an app in this condition that clearly doesnt work and has so many issues even admitted by the company that produced is still selling on the store?

How is it even still available and is there not anything in place for the future? Can a developer submit an app that clearly is not functional, but appears to look good and have it accepted and make sales while working to actually make it functional? Dont you imagine the MobileChat people didnt have the money for the real true development to make their product work and the only way they got enough money was due to the sales of their non functional app? Can others in the future submit a totally non functional app that can generate sales to use that money to make the app actually work? Has anyone even considered this?

I suppose this has nothing to do with your question, but I do find it funny that people were screaming about this app, and that it's delayed appearance was some sort of Apple conspiracy. Then, as it appears to have turned out, the developers are basically lying weasels.

Their behavior has been horrific. I can't imagine buying this app regardless of how stupendously awesome it might become (though I doubt it) in the future.

Edit: for the latter part of your question... I wouldn't see a problem with that type of development if *UP FRONT* users were informed that they were buying into that kind of system. To do it the way you suggested is simple a fraud.

Of course if you were upfront about it thats one thing, thats beta testing and ad hoc distribution where you can send your app out to 1000 people and let them work out the bugs and all of that with you.

Its early development on this platform of course and there are bugs in all versions of software. But this program was sold for a price and presented as functional. It wasnt even admittedly by the developers now an alpha version barely with almost no function.

So can a developer put something like that up and get it listed and continue to sell it without it being removed to be able to afford to actually work on making it functional. I am almost certain that these guys couldnt afford any of the work thats been done since for a program thats still not functional if it wasnt for the sales of this non functional app in the first couple weeks to provide them the money to do it.

I think they want to have a functional program and it means a lot to them. But it appears Apple has nothing in place to remedy this situation and is continuing to allow it to go on. Do they not have people check to make sure an app is functional even or not some disaster ready to be sent out either non functional or even worse that can potentially exploit your phone?

But now its here.. I complained to Apple and asked for a refund, but heard nothing. Oh well, it's not a lot of money to me. But those 'developers' have potentially earned thousands from it already. And thats what I really resent.

And yes, this definitely should have been pulled from the app store long ago.

Actually, a paid application has to work before being admitted. That's why MobileChat was not at the App Store release, because their server didn't work (whilst Facebook and Palringo got past cause they're free).

I'm sure it worked when there were only like 10 people on the server. Course I'm beginning to think this delay is ridiculous...how can you misinterpret the rejection reason so many times???

App works for me more than not. A new update according to them is supposed to be out sometime this week.
