So I was just looking at the bottom of my phone and saw the lightning port... It dawned on me that nothings ever been in there since I took it out of the box.... I had an Anker wireless charger waiting when it arrived, I had Bluetooth headphones and with pictures in the cloud and streaming music services I no longer connect to my laptop to sync with itunes. Anyone else have no need for their lightning port so far?

Mine was violated with a lightning cable to sync all of my music over from iTunes and for an encrypted backup before I jumped on the beta train.

LOL!! This morning I had to resort to the USB port in my car, damn bluetooth was not connecting!!! I made sure to ease it in gently!

My X has been around the block and then some since it was delivered last month. I probably will not try out wireless charging until Apple releases AirPower next year. That way I can use it to charge my X and AW.

I use my phone as my deck in my car so I need my lightning port. Only time I use wireless is charging overnight which is nice or in the kitchen. I have a quick charger too I’ve used.

I filled mine up with soft plastic, now it’s set and I can pull it out, but it effectively sealed.

CarPlay in my Honda requires a wired connection. I’m sure Wireless CarPlay will be coming to more cars soon, but until then I’ll need a wired connection.

Given that wireless charging has been available for a while, Apple has their version coming with the AirPower, which I do see that slowly making its way into more homes. And for those who want to save more money, there is cheaper QI alternatives available online. But the convenience of wireless charging is their, however lightning is still predominate for the time being.

And then eventually, one day, we might see long range wireless charging. Which is something that I really look forward to experience.

My iPhone x lost its virginity on day 1. I like using my phone while its charging. So I almost never use wireless chargin.

I sync my entire music library from iTunes on my MacBook. That’s the only use for the lightning port for me personally. Charging is always wireless (so far).

You can sync wirelessly since the iPhone 4 (or 4s?).

*But if i'm honest I prefer pluggin it to the mac.
