Hi guys,

This is the second time I experienced the same issue. The right AirPod is either losing charge or not charging within the case.

Today when I tried to use them I realised that the right AirPod was not connecting with the phone. Checked the battery and it showed only 5% on the right AirPod while it was in the case the whole night and the morning.

Has anyone faced the same issue, if yes, did you get a replacement from Apple? Did they replace everything or just the faulty AirPod?

Sounds like a trip to the Apple store is needed. You could try a different lightning cable or try resetting the AirPods by holding the setup button on the back of the case.

Depending how long you have had your AirPods, you should be under warranty where Apple will replace it if it’s not holding a charge.

I’ve only bought it last October. It’s not that the charge is not lasting but I’ve experienced the second time when the right AirPod didn’t charge in the case.

I have had this issue. The problem was caused by a bit of fluff that had got into the case; once it was dislodged the right airpod went back to normal. In fact it charged quickly - possible that as the left one was at 100% it was able to take the maximum charge sooner.

I had this problem with the left bud. I cleaned case and AirPods thoroughly with light alcohol on a Q-Tip. It did not fix it. I took it to Apple Store, after witnessing event they replaced them under warranty for defective charging.

I’ve had this issue as well. I had my AirPods replaced twice under warranty and it never did fix the issue, though the issue is in frequent enough, and the AirPods great enough in every other way, that I put up with it. Ive learned to adapt myself to them. I only us them when I run (I use the wired headphones or my BeatsX other times). I always check my AirPods now before I change for a run. If one is low, I take it out & blow on both the end of the AirPod and into the case. 90% of the time, this dies the issue and it starts charging again, but sometimes I need to pay with it a bit more. Fortunately they charge quickly, so 5 minutes of charge gives me enough juice to get through a run with no problem.

I THINK the issue is one of two things (in my case). I used to keep them on the nightstand next to my money clip and I’m pretty sure the magnet in the clip was close enough that it was pulling the AirPod way from the base of the case, causing it to discharge. Once I moved them away from my winery clip, the number of times my AirPods discharged plummeted.

I believe the other issue has to do with one of them connecting to an audio source while they are in the case. I’ve seen this sometimes, as only one headphone will show up in the iphone battery app, but the other one will show up on another device (ipad, iPad mini, other iphone, etc). I’m not sure that this is what is going on in your case, but its something to check out to see if it can help diagnose your issue.
