Hey Guys,

Had my 1.1.3 16gb ZiPhoneJB iPhone for about 3 months now, and have just noticed that the right hand speaker on the bottom of the phone isn't outputting any sound. Tried playing music and calling on speakerphone but the same result both times.

I'm guessing i'll have to take it into my apple store, and i'm also guessing i'll have to do an itunes restore before I take it in. Few questions then:

1. Anything to try before taking it back?

2. Do they repair broken iphones or give you a new one?
2.a. If they repair them how long do they keep it for?

3. Any reason to take my screen protectors off?

4. Anything else?

Thanks, Leigh

Ha wasnt expecting that one, dammit I wanted a new iphone cos my screen is scratched, ah well..

Thanks!

OK - but just for your info they wouldnt repair it if it didnt have an iPhone contract which is minimum £35...

I am on a £35 contract, and I've no idea how it got scratched but take a look yourself, the photo doesn't do it justice, it looks much worse when the screen is on.

apple wont replace/repair a phone because of a scratch

and also, the search button always works :)
theres about a thread a week about the same thing...

now I know why the sound on the iphone is so Wack. They need to do something about this because iPhone has 1 of the worst sound I have ever experience. Does this mean it only has 1 speaker for sound???

yes, it has a mono speaker, which can be ok, depending on the song
headphones are fine in it though

The speaker is meant for phone rings and alert sounds and the speaker phone, it was never intended to be used for stereo playback for your tunes. Even if there were two of them, they are too small and close together to get good stereo sound out of it anyway.
