Well, one of the two 24 2.8s I ordered is on the way. There was some sort of mixup with the cc company. They apparently put a hold of the amount into the bank. For some reason when they submitted them for actual payment for shipment they submitted them separately, which looked like a double charge. So it was refused.

I was on the phone with :apple: Care for 45 minutes. Will give the guy credit, he was very helpful and friendly.

So I had to put the second one on another account, since the credit from the bank would take up to 5 - 10 days and it will be shipped shortly.

Told the wife the first one is mine ;) Which should be here on Monday :)

If the first one has the freezing or yellow screen defect, are you calling dibs on the 2nd one? :D

Good thinking... will set it up as if it's mine. Run a few checks to see if it freezes, if it does, I will be the gentleman and let her have the first one of course.

My cc company refused my charge too becuaes I had NEVER spent 2k on my cc before and they figured my card got stolen. Good you got it sorted out.

have fun!

It would appear with all the problems iMacs have, my awesome sauce perfect iMac would probably be worth a lot of money just for the less hassle :)

But I'd never sell this baby.

In response to the above post, I called my bank previously to going to the Apple store to make the big purchase, it's a good thing I did cause $2000 is the max they allow at a single time. I knew the purchase was gonna be around $2600 so I told them to raise it to that, came out to $2505. I would have been stuck 2 hours from home at the Apple store late Friday night with no way to contact the bank.

Good thinking! Unfortunately, that thought never crossed my mind when I went a few days ago to purchase a new Mac. Ended up going home with nothing in hand. :(

Luckily, I only live 10 minutes away from the store.

It's actually the reason I never bought it online, sure I could have saved a drive, but then I'd have to deal with Apple on the phone to fix it if something went wrong, besides you don't really gain anything buying from apple.com the still charge tax.

Mine wasn't denied. It was approved for the whole sum, at purchase. For some reason they did a check and when they went to actual apply the charge and deliver it looked like a new purchase which woulda set my card over the limit.

Now that it is shipping, guess I will be sitting at the F5 key refreshing the status page constantly! :D
