Hi

I am planning on designing a one off book as a present for my girlfriend, anyway I thought it would make a nice present but what I want to ask is has anyone had a book they designed printed professionally but just had 1 copy made? I only need one book printed but I want it to look good. I thought of apples photo books at first but I think this book will be quite long 200-300 pages.

Has anyone done something like this or know where the best place I could get this done? If all else fails I could make the book by hand but ideally would like it to be professionally printed.

Thanks

I don't know where you live, but alot of print shops in my area can do perfect binding like magazines or paper back books even for one copy. Google in your local area and ask if they do perfect binding.

take a look at lulu.com, they provide self-publishing services. They have a cost calculator that'll give you a starting point. (you might want to use firefox, i've had some trouble with safari on their site)

according to the youtube link its UK
According to its website, Lulu.com has offices in Raleigh, London, Toronto and Bangalore. That would be two offices in North America, one in Europe, and one on the Indian sub-continent. As for Safari and Lulu.com's website, it seems to work just fine with with my installation of Safari 4.0.

it was with their price calculator and using safari 3 that I had some problems
