I have dropped my beloved iPad 3 times now (not clumsy surely?) and I am delighted to say it appears to have come out unscathed. Still working flawlessly.

Last time was when I knocked it off the bar in my local pub onto a quarry tile floor. A huge crash which had the whole pub looking my way. OMG I thought, a big embarassing expensive mess here. Picked it up, played cool and switched it on.
Ho ho, no problems here, then I slid quickly out the door to double check it.

The Apple case gets some slagging off here but I reckon it has saved my iPad from damage. Highly recommended especially for clumsy types. Good idea to check your accidental damage insurance aswell.

Nice. I've dropped mine once from waist level onto pavement. I had a case that didn't secure the iPad from the top and I wasn't paying attention to what direction I was holding it. It slid out and landed mostly against the top edge. I can barely see a little black scuff, but that's it. No problems at all since then.

It's always embarrassing in front of people cuz they all stare either in hopes that it's ok or that some poor schmuck just face planted his pretty iPad.

By the way, I have since switched to the apple case, which doesn't offer as much padding around it, it certainly won't slide out at all.

Yikes! One of my biggest worries -- dropping either the iPad or the iPhone 4. @Vastoholic - what case did you have that it slipped out from? I always like to know so I avoid that case

I've dropped it a couple of times. The last time, it fell from my bag, which I forgot to close, from above waist level. It fell on one of its corners and it did get a nasty dent. That's when I decided to dump the Switcheasy Nude case, because it did not protect it at all.

I actually stepped on mine, fortunately while in its Apple case. I was mortified but I don't weigh that much so iPad is still as perfect as the day I bought it.

I also knocked it off a desk onto carpeted floor, but it wasn't much of a drop so no worries there. I am a bit more careful now, though

I can't remember right now. I'll check when I get home. I found it through a link in accessories forum and it was on sale for $20 so I figured it would hurt me if if it was crap. It's a good case, just something to fasten it in because you slide it in from the top and there's no bungies or snaps or anything.

**EDIT** found my post about it. Here's the previous case I had. I still have it and might use it from time to time.
