Using Safari 13.1.2. One website (and only on this one website) freezes after loading. Clicking links stops working and scrolling stops working. Clearing caches and cookies and removing all website data don't solve the problem. I'm guessing the problem is a setting for this one website. How do I fix it?

Thanks, Taz Mangus. I created a new account. The website seems to work fine in the new account. What does this tell me about my usual account?

If you are using any extensions in Safari, maybe try removing them. Also try this as an experiment, quit Safari, go to the ~/Library folder and rename the Safari folder to Safari.bak. Launch Safari and try the website. When you are done remove the newly create Safari folder and rename the Safari.bak folder back to Safari.

The only extensions I use are Wipr Part 1, Wipr Part 2, Wipr Part 3, and 1Password. I've tried the website with these extensions removed, but it made no difference.

I renamed the Safari folder Safari.bak and tried the website again, and it worked fine. But when I deleted the new Safari folder and renamed Safari.bak back to Safari, the problem persisted.

It could be something in the Safari folder which is corrupted. Quit Safari. Look at Safari/Databases/_IndexedDB/v1 folder. If there is a https_www.foxnews.com_0, maybe remove it or rename. Also, look in Safari/LocalStorage for foxnews entries and maybe rename or remove them. Launch Safari and try the website again. If that works then remove those entries mentioned above.

If none of that works, quit Safari, rename the Safari folder to Safari.bak, create a new Safari folder, copy Safari.bak/Bookmarks.plist to the new Safari folder. Launch Safari again and try the website.

No foxnews files in Safari/Databases/_IndexedDB/v1. I found and removed three foxnews files in Safari/LocalStorage, but removing them made no difference. Is there a way to reset Safari without having to reinstall Catalina?

See if this works. Quit Safari, rename the Safari folder to Safari.bak, create a new Safari folder, copy Safari.bak/Bookmarks.plist to the new Safari folder. Launch Safari again and try the website.

Hold on. Now it's working OK--at least for now. Maybe removing the database files actually fixed it. I'll report back if the problem reappears. Thank you, Taz Mangus, for sticking with me on this!
