See the icon that is circled. Unable to delete, just stuck there. Anyone knows what is this?

Thanks

Only place I’ve seen that icon is in my list for iCloud backup. It shows that icon for Profile and TextInput. Did you try a hard restart of your device? It may clear the icon...

Looks like a template app icon used to devlop IOS icons. Possibly a place holder before an IOS app has finished download, as if an incompete or interrupted download.

Yes. I have tried hard restart the devices. Still there. I don't really mind about it, just wondering

Problem is I don't really know which app was downloaded as incomplete or interrupted download.

I have that same icon since I started using Ninox, but my icon says Ninox on it.

Thanks for the reply. My case is that the icon says nothing about the app. All blank. Σ(●゚д゚●) ... Whatever... i will let it sit there.

How come some apps are named in English and others are in Chinese/Japanese/Korean?

Have you changed the App Store country you are signed in to? Possibly the ‘blank’ app symbol is for an app not available in your new country.

I have a similar app on my iPad as well, though it does display the name and I am able to delete it if I want. Even when I delete the app and reinstall it, it still shows the blank icon. It's a native iPhone app so it looks fine there, but not on any of my iPads.

Yeah, it's the standard template;
contact the app developer.
I have the Garage Talk car forum app on my iOS9 iPod, & iOS10 iPad, & the icon is normal on iOS9, but looks like the template on iOS10.
The app developer has to fix their icon sizes, usually.
(& yeah, it will also show if there are issues while downloading apps or app updates (like wifi dying while downloading, & the download not completing)
Doesn't affect the app.
(& if it does, delete & redownload)

(it looks like it was an app that was interrupted while downloading.
Try a home screen reset in settings.
Before, you could go to iTunes & see it, now it's changed (of course)

I’ve had this happen a couple of times and also could not delete them by holding the icons from the home screen. One time, I was able to remove the app by going into Settings, General, iPad Storage and then deleted the app that way. The other time, this method didn’t work and I could only remove it by backing up my iPad to iTunes and then restoring from backup. That also removed the icon.

You had an app that is not supported anymore, and icon changed to that grey box after iOS update. You can delete it just like you'd delete an app.

(usually, but...)
No, his app also doesn't have a name, icon, & he can't delete it from the Home Screen, so 99% of the time it's because of an incomplete/interrupted download, server, or wifi problem while downloading.
Before, you could connect to iTunes & see what app it is, now the iTunes app/store is different.
He would actually have to erase his device.

Well that sucks. I shoved the icon into a folder, so that kind solve the problem. I don't know which app this icon associate with. I don't think I will use this app anyway.
