Just set up a new Mac Studio from scratch. We use OneDrive for file storage so when I save a document on my local machine, it also uploads to OneDrive. The new Time Machine backup only backs up an Alias of my local OneDrive folder, not all of the files in it, so really my files are not being backed up on Time Machine. Does anyone know why this is and how to change it? It has not been like this in the past. Screen shot attached.

The latest OneDrive implementation has been completely bungled by Microsoft.
There are multiple threads on this site addressing this, but to cut a long story short, OneDrive files can no longer be reliably backed up with Time Machine. Nor do they go the Bin when deleted.

When this was implemented a few months back, many decided to move away from OD to other cloud solutions, including myself.
I now use iCloud and I could not be happier.

At that point I simply stopped caring about OD, so unless something has changed in the last couple of months, the situation is still the same.

The following threads should give you a head start on the various issues:

I am trying to exclude the onedrive folders from time machine, but after I save the settings and go back into the excluded items list it has been removed. Is there a trick to this?

Avoiding oneDrive is not an option - this is my work computer.
