OneDrive Files on Demand option missing

Today OneDrive updated to the latest version (18.240.1202) with Files on Demand support. Changelog describes that this option can be found under General tab, however this option is missing for me. I'm running Mojave 10.14.3 on a 2018 MacBook Pro. I tried restarting but it didn't change anything.

Can someone check if the option is present or is it just me?

Same here, I just updated onedrive and that option is missing.

I opened a ticket with the OneDrive support to report the issue.

Also I've got a silly question; is ther any way to add the little microsoft onedrive icon to finder sidebar?
I'm so used to my windows PC that annoys me not having that little icon there, I know I can drag and drop the onedrive folder but it's jsut a folder not the proper app icon.

Nevermind, I already found the solution for the icon missing. It was just matter of enabling onedrive finder extension in preferences.

Have you noticed any difference in terms of energy consumption between onedrive and google drive? I have 30gb storage in onedrive and 15gb in google.

I'm perfectly happy with the OneDrive integration on MacOS. No impact on energy consumption.

The support provided a solution but unfortunately it didn't work for me. I'm waiting for an update.

If you want to try it yourself, this is it:

"Quit OneDrive and delete the json files (*.json) in ~/Library/Caches/OneDrive, and then relaunch OneDrive."

I have 2 Macs with Onedrive. Mac 1 (2013 Macbook Air) has the on-demand function and the other (2016 Macbook) does not. Both updated to the latest MacOS.

I didn't see OneDrive in the Library Caches folder in either computer so no *.json files to delete. Stopping and relaunching OneDrive has no effect nor does restarting the computer that does not have on-demand.

Go figure.

I just reinstalled OneDrive from the store after cleaning my mac with Onyx and now I have the file on demand option under general tab inside settings menu.

So I encourage all to clean your mac with Onyx (default settings is fine)

I gues some old file from previous version of onedrive was preventing the new funcionality.

I also uninstalled and reinstalled the app from the Mac App Store, but the option still did not appear.

I haven't tried with OnyX though.

Today I opened the Settings tab on OneDrive and the option was there!

Something must have changed on server side.

/usr/libexec/PlistBuddy -c "Add :FilesOnDemandEnabled bool true" ~/Library/Preferences/com.microsoft.OneDrive.plist
