Hi all

I have Onedrive setup to backup all of my photos automatically, including when connected to a mobile network. I've just checked my camera roll folder on my computer and to my surprise, there were no recent photos showing. I opened Onedrive on my phone at which point it started to upload 39 photos.

My question is, why hasn't the phone done this automatically? It was over 5 days ago since it last uploaded photos to Onedrive, but it's supposed to do it automatically.

Many thanks

M

If onedrive "automatic" backup works like Google Photos does you have to actually open the app for it to begin the backup. It can't do it in the background on its own I don't think.

Onedrive will only upload in the background when you change location, assuming it has permission to access your location and hasn't been force-closed. Apps can't run indefinitely in the background so I believe a location change is one of the triggers that wakes an app up.

Hi thanks for the replies. I spotted that automatic backup was now switched off! Turned it back on again.
