The OneDrive macOS / OS X sync client has been a bit of a mess for a long time.

For example, an amusing bug report from 2016 triggered this statement from MS tech support

"Unfortunately the sync errors reported by the OneDrive client are due to filenames which are illegal on the OneDrive sync space, such as '|', '?', ':', '"' and leading spaces" ... "currently there is no workaround I can provide, and we certainly don't expect you to rename your files in order to sync them through the OneDrive client. I'm sorry for the inconvenience we might have caused you."

These filename issues still remain. Another 'feature' of the client prevents the storing of files on OneDrive where the total path+file name exceeds 256 characters (which, for example, means you cannot sync deeply nested file structures).

The sync client also has had problems with memory leaks and appallingly slow sync times.

But with the latest version of macOS beta the OneDrive sync client appears to have stopped syncing altogether.

Does anyone know of a work-around for sync'ing OneDrive - for example a third-party app to achieve same end? Or is it time to move to an alternative cloud sync provider?
