ongoing issues causing the laptop to crash, freeze, heat up, or result in loud and continuous fan noise

I have been buying and using laptops since 1988 - the first being a Toshiba T3200 with a weight of 24 lbs (purchased for $4000++. I agree with the other posters that Apple and its support have gone downhill in recent years... Big time. Recent Apple Macpros (2020 and 2021) have had issues. For example, My MacPro 2021, 16", 32 GB for is at times having heat issues when opening the laptop after several hours of non-use, or more after being shut closed (but not turned off). The laptop opens and instead of being cool after non-use - it is hot. Not always but sometimes. Also experiencing window freeze, requiring a reboot and very high rev of the fan noise occurred when upgrading operating systems. Minecraft was also running slowly. The genius at the genius bar removed Minecraft. That was their immediate solution. Told me to log in as a second user (that was their second solution) and (told me to use SAFARI - which was their 3rd solution to date). But why should I have to use their subpar browser? And why should I not be able to run Minecraft on a 2021 MacPro with 32GB RAM? The executive office took over the case. Well after several events, as well as sending a video of window freezing, loud noise from the fans , they requested log files after one of these events. (log files require apple tech support to log in and guide regarding building and pulling of log files. After they obtained the logfiles I did not hear back from them. They have been quiet and have not responded back. The MSI computer GE Series, that I bought in early 2021 at almost half the price at $1900 also has 32 GB but runs Minecraft really well with none of the issues I encountered with the apple laptop. At this point, I don't believe that Apple Macpro computers are worth the money. In fact, given their abysmal performance, they are no better than $1500 laptops sold by other manufacturers. Their only advantage is the nice-looking 600 NIT screen. But the MacPro 16 fails in so many other ways including the *new lawsuits* regarding screen fracture on the new MacBook M1. Recently lawyers from Bursor and Fisher announced they had sued Apple in a class-action lawsuit over how reportedly easy it is to shatter an M1’s display. “The M1 MacBook is defective, as the screens are extraordinarily fragile, cracking, blacking out, or showing magenta, purple and blue lines and squares, or otherwise ceasing to function altogether,” the lawsuit states. End users with broken screens are reportedly being charged $600 to $850 to repair them, even though the M1 is under warranty, as Apple claims the problem is “user error.” -

You can run anything you want. Just don't blame Apple if the non-Apple software you run messes things up. Most software runs fine.

Not a lot of complaints here about broken screens, and not more compared to other years as far as I can tell.

Breaking news:

Glass shatters and people try to blame anything other than themselves.

As to the rest of your issues, hopefully Apple is able to assist.

No, the problem is that it was not working even without Minecraft running. Minecraft was taken out early on. For example, the same problems occur with just "chrome" running !! So you are correct much cheaper PC's will run Minecraft and everything else as well without a problem. That's my point. Thanks for the followup.

Apple trying desperately not to replace the MacBook Pro 2021 16" 32 GB computer despite the fact that I am within the 1-year warranty and have AppleCare. Their latest attempt is telling me that If they give me a new computer I may have the same issues!!?? They are also claiming without much proof that issues I am having are "only" software-related (and not hardware)! Also, they are blaming a freeze on Adobe. Tech who promised to call back 3 days ago is now silent (for the second time). Will keep posted.

Update Feb 15: Apple engineers are asking me to continue to report issues so that they can examine log files and possible causes. (Given the persisting problems over 4 months - this is much more than a typical consumer should have to deal with. :))) Simultaneously the apple executive office contact is trying to close the case (for the second or third time), right after assuring me that I will continue to get the necessary tech support and despite the engineer's requests to examine issues as they occur!. Even the Apple Engineer agreed to speak with the contact regarding his attempts at prematurely closing the case. The same contact who wants to close the case is the one who previously told me that if they give me another new laptop it may have the same problems.!! I have now sent a further complaint to Apple management. Will keep posted.

Update February 25. Now I can add screen flicker to high heat (See image below), high fan rev noise, and other issues previously described. About a week ago on February 18, 2022 I noticed a horizontal and vertical line flicker with the machine.
The Apple representative at the genius bar also noticed a tiny screen crack towards the bottom right. The machine was sent in under Applecare to fix this (and other issues regarding high heat, high rev noise etc. as previously described). I received the laptop back yesterday. The screen issues appear to have been fixed. The other issues remain. I am asking the executive office which previously claimed that the issues were only software (and not hardware related) for a complete refund or a brand new machine replacement. Will keep posted..

The tiny hairline screen crack may have been with the computer when I bought it, may have originated after I bought it due to a defective screen, May have been the cause of the other problems. Still unclear. Screen / vertical lines issues was fixed by Apple. The new screen looks good. Am still monitoring other issues.

Turns out the tiny hairline crack that probably came with the computer, went unnoticed by myself and the Apple Genius bar when I made my initial complaints. After Apple replaced the screen, the problems for the most part went away. I am suspicious that I was able to purchase a 32GB laptop in June 2021, when delivery of such machine was abpit a month and half

Due to poor/non-existent support from Apple's executive office, as well as the genius bar, I recently purchased several workstations from Lenovo, with 3-year on-site warranties. The price on a discount - of each was between $1580 and $1630. I would have gone for the expensive mac pros - but refuse to spend $6000++ on items that may be broken from the get-go with sub-par support. I am happy that I now saved $$$$$. Thank you Apple.!

Macpro working ok. Now and then it greets me with a "random" reboot. A tiny hairline crack to the screen - went unnoticed by Apple - causing the heat, freeze, and crash issues mentioned above, until the crack enlarged and became noticeable after which it was fixed. Furthermore, I am using a much cheaper Lenovo for mission-critical tasks. FYI Macbook Pro prices have been on massive discounts at Best Buy and Amazon for the longest periods. Reason 1) Competitors provide better or upgraded products (for example with more RAM) at much cheaper prices, while Apple's prices are just way too high. 2) Apparently according to Best Buy - A consumer can also get free "apple care" if the consumer wants to buy Apple products through Best Buy as long as they sign up and pay for a yearly fee with "total tech" which additionally provides all kinds of services and discounts on many other tech products throughout the year. If Best Buy provides the Apple Care product at a deep discount, then consumers are probably paying a lot of $$ for "care" after already spending a megaton $$ . Apple care provides peace of mind at a massive cost.. LOL.
