I have bought a product from an online website. I have requested a refund from them but I have a slight issue. Basically I paid for this using Apple Pay, the way I believe it works is it is assigned a device card number and not the actually card number. Recently I have restored my iPhone causing me to get a new device number. The refund has gone into my old decide number and not my new one. I’ve spoke to apple and my card company and they are unsure what they can do to resolve it. Will the payment just bounce back or still go into my credit card account?

What card in your wallet was used to make the payment? A credit card, a bank debit card, ... ?
