If I order and iPad 7 Mini online for pickup and my local (25 minutes away) store and select that I want to trade in my iPad 10, will I be able to trade that iPad 10 at the store when I go to pick it up? Or will I need to mail it in? Prefer not to have to do the latter.

I know I can just show up to buy and trade right there at the Apple Store, but just don't want to make the drive down there and then find out they are out of the exact model/spec that I want to buy. Thanks!

Have you checked the color and configuration of the iPad mini you're looking for? If it's available for pickup today, then they have it in stock, and I'm honestly doubtful that they would sell out of anything. It's not like these are the iPhone Pro and in hot demand.

You can trade-in your old iPad in-store. What they will ask you to do (preferrably ahead of time) is reset the device, and turn off 'Find My'. Then they will scan the serial number and run a remote diagnostics on the iPad to make sure the components are working, and then briefly visually inspect the outside. That's it. Probably takes 2 minutes at the most and then you can get emailed the trade-in receipt (optional).

It does actually say "Order now. Pick up, in-store:" so I guess should not be a problem.

Thanks. And yes, I'd definitely have my old one backed up and then completely wiped prior to taking it to the Apple Store to trade. Ordering online still is just easier because I'd be using the education discount (2 kids in college) and a bunch of Apple credit. Easier than messing with both at the store for payment.
