i am new to a mac but not to online poker. I have asked pokerstars what i have to do and one thing was disappointing to me. they want my administrative password. NO WAY.. does anyone play online and how do i use my mac without giving my password out. thx..

I'm confused by what you're saying. Never give your administrator password to someone else... but software you install requires it, so if you download and install a poker app, you'll need to type it in to your mac.

I only really use Full Tilt now, and it has a pretty good app that you download and install.

Of course.
There is no way to bypass this -- it's the same as any other application, standard to OS X.

Why not put in your password if you got it from the respective site? If you're fine gambling playing poker why not take a gamble and put in your password?

Should be fine.

I have been playing NL Holdem on Full Tilt and Poker Stars. Neither site asked me for any my systems' Admin passwords. Unless, this is a new policy, I don't see need for this. I have to log into the site with a site password prior to playing any cash games. So, the fear of someone playing cash games on any of my rigs is not an issue, if that is their concern.

No legit online site will request your computer admin password.

Go to a reputable site. (or don't waste your time / money with online gambling, because those things are not regulated, and the scammers / operators set the system to favor themselves.

I would say poker stars is about as legit as they come at this point in time... as it is currently the largest poker room in the world according to online poker ED. is this still the case? I've noticed more and more online poker rooms becoming mac friendly. Do macs have problems with the instant play versions on poker sites or just the downloads?
