I really don't like the fact that the online version of MobileMe calendar will not let you create an alert when creating an event. Does this bother anyone else or is there a way to to it that I'm just not seeing? I wonder if it is something that just got missed in development or if it is intentionally not there for some reason. Anywho, what are your thoughts?

It's a disappointment to me as well. I haven't been able to figure it out, and from what I have read, it's not an option.

I also wish there was an ability to snooze a calendar alarm, like the way it works in Outlook.

I'm still in my trial phase, which luckily was extended a few months, and still on the cusp of whether or not to purchase. Hopefully they update the calendar alarms prior to my trial ending.

I'll add my voice to the chorus here.

It's really annoying to add a bunch of calendar entries, which is clunky enough, and then have to go back through all the same entries on my phone to just add a 5 minute alert to each of them.

I'd never get to a meeting on time if it weren't for the alerts.

It makes no sense to me either, you can set alarms on the iPhone but not mobile calendar. I would hope such a basic function like this would be implemented easily and quickly.

This is a glaring omission that is just inexcusable. What's the point of a calendar if you can't set a reminder? At a minimum, there should be a default reminder for any entry done online. I can't imagine this won't be fixed soon.

Do you think Apple intentionally left it out due to some bug with the implementation or do you think that it was left out for some other reason? Maybe they thought "Why would anyone need to set a reminder online?" I'm completely agree that the capability should be there but I wonder what the reason behind the omission is.

I would surmise that it was left out because of some technical issues although I'm not a programmer and can't imagine why.

Based on promises made by Apple, this and other functionality should work at or around the 1st of the year. Then they gave us some free months of service... Merry Christmas :)
