I don't see them being an Apple Authorized dealer ..

What if they aren't? Does that mean that the Applecare package is invalid?

I think so. I bought the original Tibook from them and wasn't satisfied at all. I ran into major problems later in the comp's life and I couldn't get Applecare on it. I also wasn't given any of the special promotions that Apple was running at the time.

Has anyone ever done any business with http://www.onlinemicro.com? They have Applecare for PBs for around $250.00 which is $100.00 less than Apple. (iPod applecare is also 10 bucks less)

I bought a CD-RW from them about 4 years back, have no major issues with they service other than kinda slow in shipping the order. Took 2.5 days after payment and placing the order for them to actually ship it.

Could have been resolved now though.

My experience was a (good) 70/30 (bad) experience. :)

I'd say call Apple and ask them. I had to do that once when I was working for an Apple Specialist and someone brought in a iMac to be repaired that was bought off Amazon. Called Apple, asked them if they'd honor the warranty and they said they would.

EDIT: Quoted wrong message. Meant to quote the message about the applecare being valid.

Thanks! I'm so silly... I hadn't thought about calling Apple... Duh. ;)

did you ever find out if applecare is invalid from them?

if so, and i were to buy a powerbook from them, and then bought applecare from apple, would it be valid then?

does anyone else here have experience dealing with them? right now i can get a 17"pb from them for just under 2300, beating the edu price, and saving me from $200 of tax, so i'd very much like to buy from them, but not at the expense of no applecare
