Hm don't even know where to start have my 12 core Mac Pro now for 3 weeks, I installed a second graphic card Radeon RX Vega 64 and a small ram upgrade to 48GB.

I mainly use FCPC and have several DAS 2 Drobo 5D Thunderbolt 2 connected via an adapter, 1 x 5DT with Thunderbolt 3, one Promise Raid R6 Thunderbolt 2 and have an Acceslsior 4M2 4TB

Have reinstalled the system now 3 times from scratch, have removed all upgrades again but seems to have it narrowed down to any Drobo device.

the machine may work for a day and then apps start freezing and I need to force quit mac.

anyone else issues with Drobos on 7.1 Mac Pro??

Who made the TB2 to TB3 adapter cables ? I'd view those cables with suspicion given your instability . TB2 and TB3 are distinctly different technology and adapter cables of all sorts often cause issues .

You might use just a single device connected to your MP7,1 with one of those cables to verify it is not causing an issue . Don't use any other TB2 connected device during your observation . Give the test a whole day and if it passes connect the second TB2 device and so on .

We need to isolate what software or hardware component is causing your misery . And you already performed enough clean installs of macOS .

yes I did install Drobo Dashboard and all Drobo units have the latest Firmware
The Adapters are Apple Thunderbolt 2 to Thunderbolt 3 Adapters so are the cable
Even with only my Drobo 5D3 which is Thunderbolt 3 connected I have the same issue
I use the Belkin Cable cable kit for the Vega

yes doing that for the past 3 weeks only correlation is a Drobo connected, I now only have the Promis R6, Lacie 2Big and the Qnap connected and working on the machine for 24h without issues.

I now created a second account as well and used Migration from my old MacPro which has everything installed will see how that goes but it pretty much runs now for nearly 24h will no be working a bit on FCPX as that's where it often starts.

My first guess would be the Drobo software/drivers. A few years back I had a similar issue with a Pegasus device.
