Only Problem w/ New MBP

Its not so much as a problem just an annoyance. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't the only person that noticed that.

On my MBP about the IR (black circle in front) is a little gap between the gray plastic and the base of the laptop. Does anyone else have this kind of gap with their MBP?

It happens...more than it should. If it's huge, call Apple and have them replace it.

Its right under the left latch opening. Doesn't affect performance of the laptop with its open and closing. I never noticed it until last night, unless it just happened.


So this is common?

I wouldn't say common...but gaps in casings aren't uncommon. Sorry, nitpicky, I know.

Yeah my MBP CD had a slight gap over the cd player, not too big, didnt really bother me much anyway

Plastics gaps have been around since the dawn of time . If you can ignore it, great, if not, call Apple.

I have the same problem with my C2D MBP except the gap starts above the IR sensor and continues just past the right latch. It's worse above the IR though, and definitely irritating. I'm a couple days (5) past the original 14 day return period as well.

Yeah, same with mine. Maybe it has to do with something with the IR port. I don't think this litte gap is justifiable for a return is what apple would say.

And plus with the machine running awesome and the display is perfect, I wouldn't want to sacifice any of those.

It's not on all machines - if you don't have it, that's a good thing
