Only some apps on Mac output sound to AirPods?

I have an issue that when using my airpods pro with my Mac, most apps output sound correctly to the airpods. However i do have an issue whereby some apps, MuseScore is one of them, still playback through the built in Mac speakers.Is there something I am missing here?

These other apps still play through the Mac speakers even if you force the use of the AirPods in either the BlueTooth settings or the little Sound icon in the menu bar? That is strange that the apps would control where the sound goes as opposed to the Mac software

Discord has its own sound setting for input/output. You have to have both the Mac and Discord both set to the AirPods.
