is this new feature not part of the 3G S only? or is that phone jailbroken.I love the black on white and white on black.

is there a way or 3g users to unlock this option on our 3.0. this is a stupid thing. i mean like i said i get everything else, but why can't we get this! UGH!

its not enough to upgrade, but its cool to have.

I love the color scheme in the mail app, menus, etc but the inverse color thing carries over to places like the camera so it looks like you're taking x-rays.

We just need themes.

In case you didn't know Settings > General > Accessibility

The VoiceOver is screwy for me. If I set it to On, the screen goes black.

You've probably got the privacy setting on, not that I know how it's set. It was mentioned in guide that screen can be set to privacy mode for voiceover so that only the phones blind user knows what they're doing.

The menus look cool in that pic, but once you do it yourself you'll see the home screen and application icons are disgusting...

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 3_0 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/528.18 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile/7A341 Safari/528.16)

What's the point if
it inverts EVERYTHING??!

This is 3GS exclusive? Weird.

You can see a few more screenshots of this mode here. The screenshots don't come out inverted; I had to invert them in Photoshop in order to demonstrate the effect. It's identical to this. Every color on everything the phone outputs gets inverted.

I find this mode handy to use at night in a dark room if I want to read text on the screen. eBook reader apps support inverted color profiles like this, but if I'm reading a Word document on Air Sharing, I have no such control. This accessibility mode makes it possible now.

saving POWER!!! That's what it's all about!

Every macintosh computer has the ability to invert color simply by pressing: command, option, control, 8 sequentially. On a portable machine, this saves tremendous battery power while reading text, or anything where there is a LOT of white, because white uses more brightness.

The point of it is for text based stuff or simple internet browsing where text is the main thing where there is a bright white background. Of coarse you wouldn't use it as the main GUI for all day long! lol! :apple: :D :apple:

It is also a LOT more easy on the eyes, and STILL doesn't use as much power when set to the highest brightness setting.

There needs to be a jailbreak TWEAK (NOT a theme!) that inverts all colors on an iPhone. That would save TREMENDOUS battery life, especially when I'm reading my pdf textbooks for a couple hours!

Of coarse apple ONLY put this on the 3gs, the new ones don't have an unlock/jailbreak (That I'm aware of, if anyone knows, please tell me, for a macintosh computer) and it's a lot easier to sell it to older people who would have vision problems and what not.

A lot of iPhone purchasers also do not own macintosh computers, so they are unaware that an Apple computer has this same exact accessibility feature.

I have an iPhone 2g, unlocked/jailbroken with redsn0w.

My iMac as well..

I also like inverting the color on my iMac as well while I'm reading PDF textbooks and books in general. I'm always in the dark, and besides, I know my LCD, er, LED, (I always forget what the lettering is on that), display will last longer!
