Sorry for the lack of real purpose in this one, but I just want to share something.

I'm a relatively new Mac user, having only started using a (modern) Mac since about one month ago, and have since then gotten a sweet new Retina Macbook Pro. About the only way I came to terms with Macness, is the fact that OS X is really just UNIX :D

(i used a mac way back in 89, but it was whole different beast back then)

anway, my point (or at least it was when i started)
I feel like I'm the only one who doesn't worry about syncing to my iOS devices..as I have none, none whatsoever. I do have a ipod Nano but we all know that has no network awareness.

thank ye

You're not the only one ;) I too only have a "vintage" iPod Video 60GB, although I'm interested in getting the next revision of the iPod Touch.

I've been using Linux distros exclusively for about a year, and my love for OS X stems exactly from the fact that it's basically an extremely polished and graphically consistent and pleasant version of UNIX, complete with its own X server implementation if I ever need it.

Linux is quite a fragmented world, and doesn't really draw that much attention from all the commercial software companies out there. OS X, on the other hand, has Adobe, Autodesk, Microsoft, etc. all producing software for it, making it pretty much the perfect software and development platform.

Cheers

not only that, but since it's developed for a platform that they know exactly what hardware is in...it WORKS, and as much as I love my windows machines, they aren't quite as reliable.

That being said, I may have a Mac now, but I won't be giving up my Windows
