OOTB 1.1.3 SIM Sandwich Success???

There are now claims of a SIM Sandwich that will unlock OOTB 1.1.3 and leave the baseband intact - in other words a non-software unlock for the 04.03.13_G baseband. Once such claim is by x-SIM Gen 4.

Has anyone tried this?

Why would you want to use such a solution? The most recent software hack doesn't downgrade the baseband...

The software unlock uses a modified version of 04.02.13_G, so some of the baseband functions for 1.1.3 don't work - like the new Maps funcitonality.

The SIM sandwich isn't going to be for everyone, but I think it's a cleaner solution since you don't have to modify the baseband.

The geohot unlock is simpler and is almost 100% guarantee it will work.

I was under the impression that the new method for OOTB 1.1.3 iphones uses 04.03.13_G, but this guide doesn't mention it, so it's an assumption...

Unless it changed since it was introduced on Friday, it uses modified version of 04.02.13_G.
