Hi All, following problem:

Sonoma 14.7.2 on a cMP (4,1-> 5,1, RX580), OPLP 2.2.0, system runs, but the graphics (card) is almost unusable. GOP injection selected in OCLP settings (advanced).
When I try to apply the post install patches (two patches for AMD RX580 and USB 1.1) i get Return Code 71. a dependency for com.apple.kext.AMDRADEONX4000 cannot be resolved, because
com.apple.iokit.IOAcceleratorFamily2 is not found. I also get a warning because com.apple.driver.kextExcludeList is not found either.

I found some hints towards error 71 in the forums and on github (related to Ventura (and later?)), but they did neither help to resolve the problem nor help me to understand what might be causing it. ( i have a running internet connection via LAN, and did a clean install from scratch on an erased SSD after usb install).
Anybody with ideas, a lead or a link? A general explanation of the kernel extension patch process including file locations might possibly be helpful.

It's been a quarter-year now with no apparent resolution on this Sonoma problem. (Anybody? Bueller? OCLP 2.3.2 latest is still choking on most 2012-2015 Macbooks, with lack of wifi and graphics acceleration leaving Sonoma in a working but unusable state. Root patches simply fail to apply even after disabling SIP.)

I have a 4,1->5,1 as well as a 2012 MBP (non-retina) and have not seen an error 71.

Suggest checking OCLP Settings -> Security (tab)
[x] Disable Library Validation
[x] Disable AMFI

I did get tripped up once, using an OCLP USB installer from my MacPro on other Macs. I'd forgotten to reset the Target Model for the other computer, before creating a USB installer.

A USB installer for my Mac Pro usually worked on other Macs, but produced incomplete patching with weird issues.

What OS are you using OCLP to enable of your 2012 MBP?

Sonoma and Monterey (mostly Sonoma). I haven't tried Sequoia on the laptop yet.

My Macs are set up like developer systems, with multiple OS versions installed on different partitions or volumes.
