I bought my first mac today (used 867mhz G4 Powerbook 15")

so far, this is great.

However, it came lacking discs. I have Tiger, and I want to install Open Office.

When I run the install, it tells me I need X11, and it appears it can ONLY be found on the 10.4 disc.

Is this true? Is there a better open source software suite that won't make me do this?

-----
I did a search, and it seems the X11 version you can d/l from Apple.com is not the right one.

any help? I'm loving the computer (and might sell it already for an even cooler one) but I want to be able to run Open Office.

thanks, n00b first post

ok, well, going for NeoOffice at the moment.

If X11 isn't d/lable then that's the best option for now.

These macs are pretty sweet, I think I'm hooked.

(thanks for the quick replies as well)
