Hi
I am mainly a web dev, I love using scripting languages to code websites and command line apps.

I really want to use my skills to write applications for Aqua, like I can on Windows (PHP-GTK) and Ubuntu (JavaScript (GTK-GNOME) Seed).

Problem is I cannot see how to do it on my MacBook.
PHP-GTK runs though X11 so it looks horrible and everything else seems to need allot of work (building/compiling etc) just to get a simple app running.

Any ideas?

Why not use Ruby? There is pretty good support for it through MacRuby.

Alternatively you could use Python which also has Cocoa bindings.

Was looking at Python as a language last week - does it require complex building to get it up?
Will see about learning Ruby

Anyone else had any experiences?

Python is included in Mac OS X.

Although Ruby is also included I'd suggest you install MacRuby I linked too earlier rather than using the built in one.
