What is it and why do I want it?? I keep reading that everyone picks this as their must have app but I don't know what it does.

Also is there an app that I can use to store files on my iphone. I have a couple of files (word, excel, htm etc.) on my laptop that I would love to have quick access to on my iphone.

Thanks in advance and Merry Christmas!!!!

SSH is for Terminal/Command Line access.

If you want to share files, search the App Store for "Air Sharing". It is a great app that lets you store files on your iPhone/iPod touch.

If you use linux or unix (bsd at school on some computers yay) you can now get a terminal at your iphone over wifi.

if you don't know what a terminal is or why you'd want one. OpenSSH is not for you.

I love that I can connect to mine with putty at uni when there are no unix boxes available. I got my fav tools on there like imagemagick, wget, ...

Anyway if you don't know what ssh or terminal is it's not for you.
